D1 Rim300 radar data Connects to the Radar Processor module using the port labeled NMEA /

COMMS.

D2 NMEA 0183 Port 2 For vessels using a NMEA 0183 heading sensor or other device. There

is no ground wire so NMEA 0183 device must use the same ground as

the display.

D3 Display Unit Power

Cable

The RIM 300 uses 12 V DC only. Connect red to 12 V DC (+) via a

switch (use the included 3-amp fuse). Connect the black wire to vessel

ground.

D4 NMEA 2000 power If powering a NMEA 2000 network or LGC-3000 GPS antenna. Connect

red to 12 V DC (+) via a switch (use the included 3-amp fuse). Connect

the black wire to vessel ground.

Note: Do not connect this if NMEA 2000 network is already powered.

E 000-0127-45 SimNet to NMEA 2000 Adapter kit, includes the following items

E1 44172260 SimNet Cable Joiner. (44172260). Used to join the SimNet cable from

the heading sensor to the SimNet to NMEA 2000 (Micro-C) cable.

E2 24005729 SimNet to Micro-C Cable (24005729). Converts SimNet to Lowrance

NMEA 2000.

E3 037-0491-01 N2K-T-RD T connector (037-0491-01) Installed into the NMEA 2000

backbone.

F FC40 or

RC42

FC40 Fluxgate Compass (22090245) OR

RC42 Rate Compass. (22090237).

Order separately. Sensor has a 5.5 m (18 ft) NMEA 2000 cable

attached.

8.3 Set up the radar with Lowrance displays

Introduction

The Radar Setup menu allows you to setup and adjust radar settings. Most of the settings in the

Radar Setup menu will only have to be set once, but we recommend you check the settings

periodically for general maintenance.

Before you begin radar setup, the radar scanning unit, RIM 300 module, radar processor and

display unit all must be installed.

DO NOT attempt to execute Radar Setup while the vessel is moving. Some motion

from wind and wave action is acceptable, but these setup instructions are NOT

intended for vessels moving across the water. Before starting radar setup, take your

vessel out on open water with fairly calm seas, like an open bay.

Caution: If you are unsure or do not understand the following instructions, it is strongly

recommended that an experienced radar technician handle radar setup and the installation of

radar hardware.
