To ensure a watertight installation, apply a liberal amount of high quality sealing
compound inside the mounting holes and around any hardware that
penetrates the hull.
The stuffing tube and the transducer housings may be painted with anti-fouling
paint.
CAUTION: The face of the transducer should be left unpainted or
decreased performance will result Do not allow solvents to come into
contact with the transducer face.
Steel stuffing tubes are available for use on steel vessels. Note that bronze
stuffing tubes should not be used on aluminum hulls.
